How to Generate Website Sales & Leads

There are several key’s to driving sales & leads to your website.

Luxor offers help in this area through our Orlando Web Design services, however improving your website is something that any small business owner can do themselves, or at least ensure that their web designer follows these basic rules.

1. Eliminate The “Intro Page”
This should be a given – these thing’s went out with the tech boom of the 90’s. They interfere and cause a barrier to the content that the user wishes to see and view. People come to your website for content – not for some slick flash intro, they are annoying and just make it that much harder to learn about your services or buy your product.

2. Make Sure That You Have Legible Font
This may sound simple, but is often overlooked – make sure viewers can read your text across browsers. Is the color too faint? Is the background color conflicting with the font? Is the font itself not easy to read? Is the font size too small? These are all things to consider.

3. Phone Number On Every Page
Do not make people dig through your website to find a link for contact information; if you want them to call you make sure the phone number is on every page and visible – preferably at the top right of every page.

4. Clear, User-Friendly Navigation
Have a clear navigational structure that makes sense! Best to layout a sitemap before site construction so that you can anticipate the users moves and generate a clear easy to use path for them through your navigational structure; and with that structure, make sure that links are visible and clear to the user by using different font colors, underlining them or creating buttons.

5. Break Up Long Pages Of Textual Information
Too much text is useless, and does nothing but create yawns. Nobody came to your website to learn read your entire life story, keeps content relevant, interesting and short. And for those trying to “spam” Google with text – know that Google would prefer 10 short pages over one long page; in general it does not index past the first few paragraphs.

6. Do Not Build A Flash Website!
Flash is a wonderful tool – when used for what it was designed for – visual elements. Do not build or let someone talk you into building an entire website in flash. The search engines cannot index ANY text on a flash website, basically rendering it useless if you have any hope of ranking well in Google.
